ABERDEEN UNIVERSITY
Institute of Medical Sciences School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, Aberdeen, UK

Lead Professor Matteo Zanda
Chair in Biomolecular Imaging, Current Director, Centre for Sensing & Imaging Science, Loughborough University. Former Professor of Medical Technologies, Univeristy of Aberdeen.
Expert in bioorganic/medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, molecular imaging, particularly PET; leads an active research group with over 20 years of experience as an academic supervisor and researcher.
Extensive entrepreneurial experience: co-founder and CEO of KemoTech (www.kemotech.it) and Signal Pharma (2012) (www.signal-pharma.com).
Involved in EU projects both as a coordinator and partner since FP5: coordinating IAPP “PET BRAIN” June 2010-May 2014, and Head of Unit in the recently funded H2020-MSCA-ITN-2015 European Joint Doctorates Project “MOGLYNET” Sept 2015 – Aug 2019.

Professor Alison Murray
Roland Sutton Chair of Radiology
Leads clinical brain imaging research in structural and functional brain imaging correlates of cognitive ageing and dementia.
She has extensive NHS clinical experience of brain imaging in dementia, with around 400 nuclear medicine brain regional cerebral blood flow SPECT/CT studies per annum and receptor studies in movement disorder.
Founding member and executive member of the Scottish Imaging Network: A Platform for Scientific Excellence (SINAPSE) www.sinapse.ac.uk

Professor Andy Welch
Chair in The Institute for Education in Medical and Dental Sciences
Particular interests are in deleloping PET methods to detect changes in brain function; this includes the use of Statistical Parametric Mapping and other statistical tools to detect changes in brain metabolism as measuire with FDG-PET. Current research also involves measuring changes in cardiac metabolism with PET, including developing methods to measure glucose, oxidative and fatty acid metabolism.
